New Firefox 3.1 Beta Adds Multi-touch support.

On Monday, Mozilla released the latest beta version of Firefox 3.1. This new version adds more great features across all platforms.

  • Private Browsing Mode
  • Faster JavaScript engine
  • Improved rendering
  • Support for new web technologies.

The greatest feature however, is on the mac build. It features support for the multi-touch trackpads that Apple has been shipping since January. Already, of course, Safari supports these features. But, it’s the first time Firefox will attempt it.

The gestures supported are:

  • Swipe Left: Go back in history (hold Cmd to open it in a tab)
  • Swipe Right: Go forward in history
  • Swipe Up: Go to the top of the page
  • Swipe Down: Go to the end of the page
  • Pinch Together: Zoom out
  • Pinch Apart: Zoom in
  • Twist Right: Next tab
  • Twist Left: Previous tab

The new beta version is intended for testing purposes only. Mozilla hasn’t said on any other release date.

$99 Wal-Mart iPhone, I wish!

The rumors speculating about a $99  Wal-Mart iPhone are not only false, but very unlikely. Wal-Mart advertisements and training information shows that the 8GB iPhone will be on sale for $197. However their are no leads to say about a 4GB model. It is still highly unlikely that there will be one. The iPhone will go on sale on December 28th.

This is also confirmed with a post on the macblogz.com website.

Apple’s new In-Ear Headphones.

The new In-Ear Headphones, with remote and mic, are said to be superior in acoustics and clarity.

Unlike many small headphones, each earpiece of the Apple In-Ear Headphones contains two separate high-performance drivers — a woofer to handle bass and mid-range sounds and a tweeter for high-frequency audio.  (Apple website)

The only downsize is, its price, at 79$ (US) can be a little more than expected. But hey, its Apple, so why not. We all know that it is what apple says it is. Will you be putting this on your wish list? I know i will.

Macworld 2009

Ahh… the sweet smell of apple is in the air. What will happen in San Francisco? No one knows exactly, but lets hope for something big. We know already that Apple just released the new line of MacBook’s but, their is still some need for other updates. A new iMac, or a new mini? Hmm… I wonder. We can only wait and see.

Fido announces “High Value” price plans for the iPhone

Yeah right! “High Value” and plans that start at $60 a month? Wow who are they kidding… Well I’m sure this is fine and dandy for people with no money objection, but what about the people with limited budgets? Why can’t Apple release the iPhone like every other phone company, why do they have to be so special. Why cant i buy the iPhone full price and use it like a prepaid phone. No they have to make it all complicated with different price plans and such. Ah why cant they make things simple. I thought that was what apple was aiming for, Simplicity. Well I guess that idea has ran out the door. Im afraid as Apple’s power grows they are turning more and more into Microsoft. Controlling users to do only certain things, what happened to open Source? Well all these things are just opinions we just have to wait until July 11th for the release and take it from there.
